Frankly My Deer

Frankly My Deer shop front

Haven't been on here for a while now - but a new job has kept me away from my blogsite!

Since my last post, things have really improved with the prints, as I became one of the many 'fawns' at the amazing Frankly My Deer, owned by the equally amazing Karla!

This wonderful, unique shop is filled with a wide range of gifts, including jewellery, greetings cards, homeware and art. All items are handmade, drawn or crafted in Sheffield and the shop showcases over 50 of Sheffield's Independent makers.

The shop was originally part of Vintedge, but moved to it's current location on Abbeydale Road about a year ago. My prints have been on sale in there since this move and I feel extremely proud to be part of this extremely exciting venture.

If you haven't been down there yet, get yoursen down to Sheffield's Antique Quarter and experience the wealth of local talent on show in Frankly My Deer.

The Big Boulder, Heeley

It's that time of year and the Big Boulder, a wonderful, local music and arts festival is on this Sunday, in Heeley Millennium Park. I have been for the past 2 years and the atmosphere has been amazing each time. Organised by Heeley Development Trust it is definitely worth checking out.

This year however, I will be there in a different guise, as a stall holder and hopefully, the local people of Heeley and the surrounding areas will appreciate my locally inspired prints.

This is only the second time I will  be holding a stall and I am pleased that I have chosen this particular event to showcase the new additions to my print portfolio.

The sun is supposedly coming out to play, so if you're stuck for something to do this Sunday, I can guarantee you will have a wonderful afternoon down at the big boulder. Great live music, good food, art and exhibitions plus some local ale to help wash it all down!

So get your dancing shoes on and get down to Heeley Millennium Park and you may even come away with some new locally inspired artwork for your home!

A New Era . . . .

First prints up for sale in The Corner Gallery
It's still very early days for me in terms of creating prints to actually sell to the general public, but this week has seen a great opportunity come my way! My prints are now on sale at The Corner Gallery, Queens Road, Sheffield.

I can't begin to tell you how excited I am about this new venture! Until only recently, I was just a customer who frequented this amazing little gallery based in the Sheffield Antiques Corner. Now I can go and see my work up on the wall alongside an abundance of very talented local artists - it feels great!

So, like me, if you're still struggling for Xmas presents for your loved ones, I can certainly recommend a trip down to The Corner Gallery where that perfect little gift could be waiting for you (especially on the wall at the top of the stairs!)

Check out the Galleries website to see the plethora of talent on show - it truly is a great little space!

Wish me luck!

Thanks

Debut at High Storrs Xmas Fayre

Stall at High Storrs Xmas Fayre
Today I went from being someone who designs and makes prints as gifts for family and friends - to actually selling my creations to the public! Verdict: A success!

The feedback I received from everyone there was good and has certainly encouraged me to pursue this 'hobby' further.

Unfortunately it seems I am too late to book stalls at the many Xmas Fayres and markets across Sheffield over the next few weeks - but watch this space to find out where you will be able to see my work on display soon.

Thanks again for those who made purchases, those who helped with my stall and to all of you who gave me encouraging comments.

Cheers
